Despite of having high application fees for a Skilled Migrant category applications, INZ are now sending some applications to the London branch demanding to courier all additional documents to the UK directly.

INZ advised that “Due to the volume of applications received at the Auckland Central Area Office, [some applications have] been transferred to the London branch for processing, to ensure [these applications are] assessed in a timely manner”. They also note that the clients “must” send all additional documents to London Visa Application Centre located on Caxton Street.

But this is not the end – the applicants will also have to pay for couriering the documents back to them which will double the price.

NZ Post would charge for such service about $50 NZD per 0.3kg parcel


While FedEx and DHL would quote you twice higher




INZ said that the client can still drop the documents off to Auckland branch but it will take them over 2 weeks to forward the documents to London:

“Alternatively, if you are unable to courier the certified or original documents to the London Visa Application Centre, you may deposit the documents into the drop box available at your nearest INZ Branch. For security reasons we are unable to make an appointment for you to hand deliver your documents in person. You must email a scanned copy of the documents to your case officer before posting the hard copies. Please note it will take at least two weeks for the documents to arrive at the London Office, and your application will not be finalised until the original documents are received.”
