USA Police Certificate Applications
Some useful information to be aware of when you apply for Police Certificates.
In the past when applying for a PCC from the FBI it was possible to provide a Fedex account number for return of the PCC, however recently their system changed and they can now only send by UPS (US Postal System). The document will now come by surface mail and if it is lost in the mail your client will need to start the whole process again as the FBI will not issue a duplicate certificate.
Recently we ran into a problem when we applied for a PCC in the US in plenty of time and they rejected the fingerprints taken by NZ Post as they were not clear (dark) enough. The form was returned using our Fedex account with instructions to resubmit new fingerprints which we did, on follow up we were advised the certificate had been sent by UPS, which is when we discovered the new instruction they act under for sending the certificates, there is no way to track an item sent this way. The FBI say they can now only send by this method.
