Today our director Jig Patel had a meeting with Joseph Bird – a Technical Adviser of Skilled Migrant Team at the Wellington INZ Branch. They discussed the current workflow and Joseph gave us some first-hand information about current issues with Residence applications.

Here is what we’ve got:
– Currently INZ Wellington is understaffed. They have lost four people (officers accepted other positions or quit), therefore there are delays with their time frames.

– Some vacancies are being filled but currently unsure as to where they’ll be assigned.

– INZ Wellington is trying to uphold their 16 week time frame for allocations to case officers. However if it is impossible they will move cases to priority.

So, if your case is being processed at the Wellington Branch, please expect some delays. Officers are working hard to increase the pace and we are sure that things will get back to normal pretty soon.
